Deposits
To secure your dates, a deposit or full payment is required. We will not hold unsecured slots. You must make a 50% deposit within 14 days of booking to secure your reservation. If you fail to make the deposit within this timeframe, we will release your slots. The balance is due 90 days before arrival. Reservations made within 90 days of arrival require full payment.
Travel Insurance
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance from TRAVELGUARD, which covers cancellations due to illness, accidents, hurricanes, terrorism, financial insolvency, natural disaster, airline strike, jury duty, military duty, stolen passport or visa, loss of employment. However, please note that trip cancellations and trip interruptions due to known, foreseeable, or expected events, epidemics, or fear of travel, weddings, funerals, business meetings, or the dog eating your homework are generally not covered. There is an expensive policy called CFAR-Cancel For Any Reason that will allow you to cancel for any reason. Cost is about 25% of your trip cost.
Cancellation Policy
Please understand that Mars Bay Bonefish Lodge does not reschedule, credit, or offer refunds for any reason, including and not exclusive to illness, accidents, weather, terrorism, pandemics, or asteroid strikes, or the great rapture. We strongly advise purchasing travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances. Our cancellation policy allows for a full refund for cancellations made 91 days or more prior to arrival. However, no refunds, credits, or rescheduling are granted for cancellations made within 90 days of arrival. This policy is necessary to sustain our business operations.
Refunds, Credits, and Rescheduling
If you contact the lodge more than 91 days before your arrival, we will issue a refund, allowing time to fill your slot. However, cancellations within 90 days or less will not receive credits, rescheduling, or a refund. We understand that some may find this policy rude, but it is crucial to our business. Reservations are often made over a year in advance, and last-minute changes, such as needing to reschedule, disrupt our operations. The lodge holds your slot, which could have been sold multiple times, and now the client wants to reserve another slot in the future. The client effectively expects two slots for the price of one. Absolutely not! Trip insurance will not cover it, and neither will the lodge.
Final Reminder
Remember, trip insurance won’t cover these scenarios without documentation. Please purchase travel insurance.
Mars Bay is a fishing lodge, not an insurance company.
Upon submitting your deposit or full payment, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the deposits, cancellations, and refund policy.
